Converting a 4-20mA analog input to a Modbus signal can be accomplished using an Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) and a Modbus communication module The process begins with an analog sensor or device that measures a physical parameter (such as temperature, pressure, level, etc.) and generates a corresponding analog signal in the range of 4-20mA. The 4mA signal represents the lowest value of the measured parameter, while the 20mA signal represents the highest value.
The analog signal is fed into an Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC). The ADC samples the analog current and converts it into a digital value. The resolution and accuracy of the ADC will determine the precision of the digital representation of the analog signal.
